This package contains 10 red maple seedlings from our 2008 crop that are 10-12" tall. The red maple (Acer rubrum) is native to low, wet areas of eastern North America. This species grows in zones 1-9, and 14-17. This maple grows fairly fast to 60 feet in height. The red maple tolerates most soils and has an upright branching pattern and is valued for its fast growth and graceful habit. Leaves are 2 to 4 inches in length and turn a brilliant scarlet color in frosty areas in the fall. The picture was taken on 5/15/09
