This package contains 1 Japanese maple seedling that is 6 to 15 inches tall. The Japanese maple (Acer palmatum) is a spectacular, aristocratic tree suitable for most landscapes. It can be used as a medium size landscape tree, an accent plant, or a border shrub depending on the style of pruning and is a favorite species for use in bonsai. Mature height ranges to 20 feet with equal or greater spread. Light shade is ideal, full sun acceptable if irrigation is provided during the summer months. It is the most airy and delicate of all maples. The common variety of green Japanese maple is rugged, fast growing, more drought tolerant and is able to stand more sun and wind than grafted cultivars do.
