This package contains 3 douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) seedlings. These seedlings are 5 to 8 inches tall and are from our 2010 crop. These seedlings are container grown and will be shipped in the container that they are growing in. The transplant success rate of our container grown stock is 100% if proper care is provided. The picture was taken on 7/7/11. Douglas Firs grow 80 to 160 feet and spread 20-30 feet wide in an erect pyramid in the landscape. It grows to more than 250 feet tall in its native habitat in the West. This species is the greatest timber producing conifer in western North America. Douglas fir reaches its best growth on well-aerated, deep soils. It will not thrive on poorly drained soils. Douglas fir grows in zones A2, A3, 1-10, and 14-17.
