This item is a package of 3 bristlecone pine (Pinus aristata) seedlings. These seedlings are 4 to 5 inches tall and are from our 2010 crop. These seedlings are container grown and will be shipped in the container that they are growing in. The transplant success rate of our container grown stock is 100% if proper care is provided. The picture was taken on 6/22/12. The Bristlecone Pine (Pinus aristata) is a small evergreen tree that grows slowly to 20’ tall and 15’ wide. The dwarf and irregular growth habit, which gives it a very attractive and picturesque form, makes it an excellent choice for a container, rock garden, or bonsai plant. It is a dense, busy, heavy trunked tree with ground sweeping branches. In youth it is symmetrical and narrow crowned. Bristlecone pines are long lived and can reach 1 or 2 thousand years in age. This species of Bristlecone is native to Colorado, New Mexico and Arizona. Bristlecones are hardy in zones 1-11, 14-19 and A2 and A3.
