About Douglas Fir
Douglas Fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) spreads 15 to 25 feet in an erect pyramid in the landscape. It grows to more than 200 feet tall in its native habitat in the West. This species is the greatest of any commercial conifer of western North America. Douglas fir reaches its best growth on well-aerated and deep soils. The douglas fir is good in zones 1-10 and 14-17.
