Belgium

  • Tim Bekaert next to largest giant sequoia in Belgium - Here you can see me sitting next to the biggest sequoia in Belgium (just over 100 years old and growing vigourously).
  • I came across a fairly young sequoia tree in the square at our university in the city of Hasselt, province Limburg, Belgium. Kind regards, Stephen Castermans
  • Enghien, Belgium - The trunk of a very typical one in a European castle garden (in fact, this garden is much older than the tree, it was designed in the 16th century). From the collection of photographer Tim Bekaert on 1-31-08.
  • Mariemont, Belgium - A group of giant sequoias in a landscape garden. All trees have a girth of 16 to 20 feet and are still growing fast. Submitted by photographer Tim Bekaert on 1-31-08.
  • Palace of Tervuren, Belgium - A giant sequoia planted as a landmark in a French garden, in the mathematic style of Versailles. The building in the background is the palace of Tervuren, built by Belgiums second king. It serves as a gigantic museum.
  • From Laken Belgium a giant sequoia silhouettes near some glasshouses in the garden of the Belgian king. Submitted by Tim B.
  • Kalmthout, Belgium - A weeping giant sequoia (S. giganteum Pendulum) in Kalmthout, Belgium. Submitted by Tim Bekaert on 1-31-08
