  • Beautiful giant sequoias that are growing near the Chateau Le Haget, Montesquiou. These California native sequoias are near their campground. This was sent to us by Wico Mulder of Netherlands.

  • Giant sequoia growing magnificently near Lyon in the village of Ars sur Formans. Image was shared with us by Gil LaPalanche.

  • Thomas Jacquin from Jura, France created this timeline of one of his giant sequoias over a few years. The dates are labeled on each photo. As of April 2012, the trunk is 4 inches diam. and 6 feet tall.
  • Jordi of Barcelona-Catalunya traveled to Cheverny Castle located two hours from Paris in the Loire Valley. This shows one of the stalwart mature giant sequioa trees planted decades ago adding to the beautiful gardens of this Chateau.
  • This picture was sent to us by Davidina Haigh of the UK. While visiting a public park in Brantome, in the Dordogne area of France, she and her husband found this magnificent giant sequoia. You can see the contrast of the size of the trunk as her husband Ian stands before it.

  • Giant sequoia growing in Clairegoutte, the Haute-Saone, France. The tree was planted behind the parsonage of the Lutheran church in this tiny village by an American pastor who served there in the mid 20th century. The center is named Le Sequoia after the tree.The project is to convert the parsonage and its barn into a hostel/retreat center. It will have a special reopening May of 2011.   • Thomas Jacquin from France sent this image of a giant sequoia growing in his yard on 1-30-08.
  • Johannes tree trunk of a wellingtonia-sequoia tree. There used to be two but one died from lack of water.
  • Johannes tree from near the village of Saint-Martin Vesubie, in the southern Alps at 996 meters elevation. It was planted in the early 1900s.
