Connecticut dawn redwood

  • "Moved into our house in Monroe, CT a couple years ago and it took us a while to figure out exactly what kind of tree we had. Not sure how old it is (the house was built in the mid-60's) but I'd guess it's probably 60-70 feet tall". Thanks to Kevin Middendorf for sending us the picture of this beautiful dawn redwood with its winter color.

  • Thanks to Bill Richter for sending us a picture of this gorgeous dawn redwood in fall colors located on Hartford Road in Manchester, Connecticut.
  • Thanks to Mike for sending us this picture of a dawn redwood tree growing at the house he grew up at in Connecticut, where his mother still lives. It sits right next to a marshy area and and just loves the wet soil and has thrived. He says it is amazing to see the tree up close at times as you can see the bark peeling away from growing so fast. It is located in Middlebury, CT and is approximately 30 years old and 70 feet high.
