  • Mark Miller shared this image of Southern Utah University's out building of the campus library  which was built in 1996. There are three healthy sequoias growing along side the building. 

  • The largest giant sequoia tree in the Washington Square off of State St. between 4th and 5th south. This tree is one of three in the park taken by Samuel Dunford in the fall of 2017. 

  • Samuel Dunford discovered a couple of healthy and mature giant sequoias growing in the Pioneer cemetery called Kimball-Whitney site. The trees are about sixty feet tall and located east of the Conference center. 

  • Another view of the image sent by Samuel Dunford of the Kimball-Whitney cemetery giant sequoia trees in Salt Lake City. These are large enough to bear cones. Thank you Samuel for this addition

  • The base of the mature giant sequoia tree growing healthy in Kimball-Whitney cemetery shared with our galley by Samuel Dunford. Located in Salt Lake City east of Conference center. 

  • East side of SLC in the University of Utah dorm parking area is one of the beautiful giant sequoias near the student community garden
  • Little America hotel in downtown Utah is graciously surrounded by the largest tree in America. They are well cared for and one sees the sequoias surrounding the entire block at 6th South and 1st West.
  • Howard Minnick sent this image to us from Layton, Utah, located on the 700 to 800 East section of Gentile Street. There are at least 8 giant sequoia trees that were planted in the late 40's, early 50's along with many Pinus and other species. The family name was Adams that planted them.

  • Little America Hotel garden area with Judy and one of the beautiful giant sequoias
  • Amongst the historic and revered graves of pioneers in the old Salt Lake City graveyard is the largest giant sequoia of the whole valley. It is well watered in this dry and arid land of deseret from the Uintas giving it life amongst the dead. If you are looking for it, search for Orson Pratt grave and tree is east of the grave.Taken by Judy 8/29/13.
  • Up on the mountain in the town of Bountiful one can view the temple built in 1995. The grounds are well cared for with five or six healthy giant sequoias on the south east side of the property. Judy took this photo on 9/1/13
  • In Layton, Utah, a giant sequoia located in Layton City Park near the amphitheater. Thanks to Howard Minnick , a Utah native for sharing this image. 

  • Little America hotel and conference center is graciously surrounded by the largest tree in America. They are well cared for and one can see the sequoias surrounding the entire block at 6th South and 1st West. The Grand America to the east also is home to a half dozen giant sequoias. Both hotels are owned by the late R. Earl Holding.
  • This is located at south side of 2400 East Sunnyside Ave. on the way to This is the Place Monument. The winters are covered in snow and summer season quite hot. This was taken by a neighbor, Alex, whom was surprised to see a giant sequoia growing nearby. It is about 7 years young and 2 yrs in the ground at this location.
  • The lush and well cared for City Creek park at the corner of N. Temple and State street has a couple of notable giant sequoias. Taken by Judy 9/1/13
  • McCune Mansion has it's own grove of giant sequoias that can be viewed on the north side of it's landscape. McCune property is on the steep climb up to the State Capital. Taken September 2013
  • East bench of Salt Lake City close to the canyons so it does quite well. It is about 37 years young and 90 feet tall now.Thank you Scott.
  • North Provo tree - This beautiful giant sequoia tree is located on a corner lot of a home on 4220 North and Canyon Drive going towards the Provo Canyon in Provo. It is in excellent condition as one can witness.
  • North Provo tree 2 - Here is another view of the Canyon Dr. tree in Provo area. It has been placed in the home landscape in a fitting location on the corner to be enjoyed by many driving by up to the canyon.
  • Provo BYU campus - These four giant sequoia trees are located at the most southern end of campus by the Botany pond and arboretum of the BYU campus in Provo. Thank you BYU student Sophie Z for taking this photo.
  • Salt Lake City giant sequoia - This specimen tree is located in Salt Lake City at the southwest corner of 8th South and 9th East or in the northeast corner of Smith's Grocery parking lot. It is a tree to be recognized and admired for its healthy condition
