Bristol tree - John DeWolf planted the "big tree" in 1911. DeWolf, a native Bristolian, was for a time the Superintendent of Prospect Park in Brooklyn, New York where he had been growing the sequoia in a greenhouse.
Blithewold is a 70 acre mansion and garden estate with a number of magnificent giant sequoias. The property is located on the Narragansett Bay and Bristol harbor. This tree was planted in 1930 as a gift. Thanks Bill Richter contributing to his R.I. page

This is a beautiful Giant Sequoia growing on church property in Bristol. The tree was planted in 1955 and is about 80 feet tall. It is located on the campus of First Congregational Church.
