South Dakota giant sequoia

sd Cutch in one

Joanne Cutchin sent us two pictures of their giant sequoia tree located in Hot Springs, South Dakota. Joanne said,” My husband gave this to me for our 41st wedding anniversary. It is a shared gift to each other. We first saw the giant sequoias in Kings Canyon in 1997. I love trees, but they were magnificent. We saw the General Sherman. Shortly after that, I had cones and actually had 3 little sequoia’s sprouted and about 1′ tall when something accidentally killed them. I was heartbroken and have talked about those trees since. I was very surprised and delighted when my wonderful husband purchased this tree. He missed out on his original choice, but we love our tree, named it MAJESTIC. We have deer, elk, rabbits and other little creatures that seem to want to “mess” with anything new.

Joanne Cutchin from Hot Springs shared: My husband carefully built a barrier around our “baby” so it will be protected and have a chance to grow more”. Thanks to Joanne and Conrad for their story and pictures
