Thanks so much to Jermaine Raffety for sending us this picture of his beautiful giant sequoia and his wonderful description of his experience growing giant sequoias. “The last addition to my Landscape is this Giant Sequoia that was planted here in Columbus, Georgia on March 2, 2013 at 4-1/2 Feet in height. God must have finally answered my prayers because in the past, the Giant Sequoia’s I’ve planted here before would never make it past June-July before they get totally brown and die due to the intense humidity here in the Southeast in comparison to the Upper Northwest region of the U.S. This one however with close monitoring, made it through 2 Summers and is now standing at 10.5 Feet in height. Of all the trees that I ever wanted in this yard, I finally got a Giant Sequoia growing successfully here in the Deep South, I will keep you posted with more updates on this one by next summer”!!!
