These trees are located in Guarda. Guarda is a small city located in the “Serra da Estrela”, the highest mountain range in continental Portugal. Guarda has a park with more than 50 sequoias. Sabugal is a small village located also the Guarda region. This sequoia was planted in the late 19th /early 20th century. The book “Arvores Monumentais de Portugal” (Portugal Monumental Trees) says it measures 98 feet tall. However, this book was published in 1984. (Photos taken by Paulo Araujo).
