Giant sequoia growing in Clairegoutte, the Haute-Saone, France. The tree was planted behind the parsonage of the Lutheran church in this tiny village by an American pastor who served there in the mid 20th century. The center is named Le Sequoia after the tree. The project is to convert the parsonage and its barn into a hostel/retreat center. It will have a special reopening May of 2011. Thank you Kathrine Douglass of PA for contributing this tree image.
