Arizona giant sequoia
-
Mark Trotter shared this giant sequoia image with us growing in an older neighborhood of Flagstaff. It is located at about 7,000 feet with ample snow, summer rains. In the spring, it is dry and windy. There are quite a few around town.

I recently purchased a home which has a big conical shaped Giant Sequoia in the yard. It is 30 feet tall and very healthy looking. It is about 16 years old. I live in Prescott, AZ at about 5800 feet elevation. Soil is mostly volcanic/granite and well drained. Climate is high desert with only about 14 inches of water annually. We get about a foot of snow each year with highs in the low 90's and lows in the teens. The climate is ideal most of year, 350 days of sun each year. Thanks to Bill White for sending us this picture.

Overgaard trees - I purchased these trees at the same time a few years ago They are both doing good the one tree is about seven feet tall. The other is only about five feet tall. The larger tree gets more sun than the small one. Raymond Gore's tree - thank you

The trees are In Overgaard Arizona on the Mogollon rim (not desert) at 6500 feet altitude. This is ponderosa pine country. Winters get well below freezing. When the trees turned a funny color in the winter I was afraid that I had lost them but I found out that was normal for them. Thank you Raymond

Sierra Vista giant sequoia - Thought I'd send along a photo of the tree that inspired me to give it a shot here in Sierra Vista, AZ. It is one mile from my home and is 30-35 feet tall and very densely branched and symmetrical as you can see.
